The Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA) has been supporting people who have Down’s syndrome their families, carers and health professionals for over 50 years. The DSA is a national charity covering England, Wales and Northern Ireland, whose vision is to create a world where all people with the condition are able to live full and rewarding lives. The DSA provides comprehensive information, advocacy and support services to everyone who has an interest in Down’s syndrome.
At the heart of what we do are a team of people who have Down’s syndrome. They work on projects and tell the DSA what they think about the work we do. People who have Down’s syndrome are experts by experience and they are the people who know what life is like for them. We listen to what they have to say and share their stories.
Their online training and support sessions are there for families and professionals across the country, while their daily DSEngage Live! activities give people who have Down’s syndrome the chance to have fun and get active from the comfort of their living rooms.
In these challenging times, support for the DSA is vital to enable them to support thousands of people who have Down’s syndrome, their families and carers. They want to continue to be there to walk alongside people who have Down’s syndrome throughout their lives.
“Once again, thank you so much for being there when I felt that no-one else was listening or understanding! You really made the world of difference and I am certain this reflects the dedication, skill and compassion with which you treat all parents who approach you.“
