We Are Beams supports disabled children and their families throughout the South East. The children who access our services will typically have one or more learning difficulties, complex health needs, physical or sensory impairment, challenging behaviour, Autism or severe ADHD.
Their vision is to take the lead in transforming the lives of disabled children and young people, which enables them to have greater independence and control of their lives and futures.
Their mission is to provide comprehensive support services to families of children and young people with any form of physical, learning or sensory impairment. We aim to support the whole family through services that directly benefit and assist those dealing with the challenges of raising a disabled child.
The services provided by We Are Beams includes a six-bedroom respite unit, a family advice line offering specialist support, a short break unit which provides after school activities and a holiday club, and direct payments that looks after the financial implications of a disabled child’s support.
They need to raise over £1.6 million a year in order to continue their care services to the most vulnerable in society. We Are Beams currently look after over 450 families and we rely heavily on the local community, businesses and schemes such as the Scrap Car Comparison Donate a Car Scheme.
Donate some or all of the profits to We Are Beams this March when you scrap your car or van with Scrap Car Comparison. Find out more, read our FAQs on donating through your vehicle.
