Founded in 1997 by a group of bereaved parents, Papyrus is dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people. Suicide is biggest killer of people aged 35 or under in the UK, which the charity strongly believes is preventable.
Now the leading youth suicide prevention charity in the UK, Papyrus has a 24/7 helpline – HOPELINE247 – which is staffed by trained advisers and works with young people, and anyone concerned for a young person, to keep them safe from suicide. HOPELINE247 is free and confidential and is available at all hours of the day, 365 days of the year.
