We’re proud to support Leukaemia UK this March and raise money to help fund the research that matters most to people living with blood cancer.
Leukaemia UK was officially formed in 2019, but dates back to the founding of the Elimination of Leukaemia Fund in 1977 by Derek Mitchell, after his wife was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia. The Elimination of Leukaemia Fund then merged with Leuka UK, another charity set up by Lester Cazin (a leukaemia patient at Hammersmith Hospital) in 2019 to form Leukeamia UK with its mission to bring together the leukaemia community and fund the life-changing research that matters most to people affected.
You can help Leukaemia UK by choosing to donate through our Donate-A-Car scheme. When selling your car with Scrap Car Comparison you can choose to donate some – or even every single penny – of the profits to our featured charity. We’ve worked with some of the biggest charities in the country and raised thousands of pounds towards important work across a huge spectrum of causes. For further information on how this scheme works, we’ve put together a handy FAQ document, which can be found here.
